Dr. Mannion leads a global team of computational scientists and engineers, driving informatics research and development across Molecular Labs instrument product areas.  Within sequencing, Dr. Mannion’s teams are responsible for development of analysis pipelines on accelerated hardware to process high throughput genomics data on edge compute, as close to the source of data generation as possible.  Additionally, he and his organization provide informatics support for a broad set of sequencing system technology development activities, working in close collaboration with chemistry, instrument and computational biology R&D groups to advance Roche’s Sensor Array and SBX Sequencing Chemistry.  

Prior to joining Roche in 2014, Dr. Mannion held multiple roles within research at Agilent Technologies Labs.  He holds an A.B. in Physics from Princeton University, and a PhD in Applied Physics from Cornell University.
