Professor Mario Plebani is a well-known academic and a physician, serving as a Professor of Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine, University of Padova, and as the Chief of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University-Hospital of Padova, where he is also the Dean.

Prof. Plebani is an author of more than 1,100 full papers and 900 abstracts, and serves as an Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, and Editor-in-Chief of Diagnosis.

He has been awarded several honors and awards for his contributions to laboratory medicine and patient care over the years, and today he will speak about the unmet needs in the pre-pre-analytic phase, the impact of pre-pre-analytic errors on diagnostic data, and the importance of adopting solutions to face these challenges.
