Okan Ekinci, MD, MBA, is the Global Head of Digital Technology and Chief Medical Information Officer at Roche Information Solutions (RIS), Roche’s Digital Health business. Previously, he served as the Global Head of Marketing & Innovation, building the award-winning Roche navify brand for 40+ digital products and establishing a global open-ecosystem innovation environment with start-ups.
Okan joined Roche in 2018 to build and lead the new Medical & Scientific Affairs function for the digital health business. Before joining Roche, he was Global Head & VP of the Healthcare Consulting business at Siemens Healthineers. Prior to that, he established the Global Medical Office of Healthineers as the founding Chief Medical Officer.
He has been a strategic advisor to healthcare institutions and government entities on digital transformation & AI and serves on the board of multiple startup incubators accelerators.
A cardiologist by training, Okan spent eight out of his 20+ years of experience in the healthcare sector in clinical practice. He holds an MBA from the European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, an MD from the University of Mainz, Germany, and is adjunct professor of medicine at the University College Dublin, Ireland.
