Peter McCaffrey, MD, MS, FCAP is a Pathologist and Chief AI Officer at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). Dr. McCaffrey is responsible for UTMB's strategy and execution surrounding AI and in driving provable outcomes for AI's integration across the clinical and operational enterprise. As a Board-Certified Clinical Pathologist, Dr. McCaffrey is also deeply involved in UTMB's diagnostic testing strategies especially as they increasingly look to in-silico diagnostics in the form of predictive algorithms. Dr. McCaffrey completed his medical training at Johns Hopkins, his Residency and Chief Residency in Clinical Pathology at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital, and his graduate training in AI and Biomedical Data Science at Stanford.
